Mike DiCesare selected for the 40 under 40 award, Albany Business Review`s nominations for AU40 2022 will open in the fall of 2022. Watch this page and the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce`s social media platforms for open applications. Applicants must be under the age of 40 at the time of the award ceremony, which is expected to be scheduled for December 2022. Finalists and category winners will be considered among the professionals who are nominated and will submit a complete application package. Each candidate submission will be reviewed by three (3) peer reviewers and evaluated on their following points: professional achievements (35%); Community participation and impact on community governance (35%); and CV (30%). Additional information such as letters of recommendation/support, press coverage, etc. are optional and count as a bonus (5%). The Activity Review and an advisory committee selected the last 40 applications from over 400. Sponsorships include tickets to receive the Albany Under 40 Awards, as well as recognition in print and electronic media of the Albany Under 40 Awards before and during the event.

Legal – Roles include, but are not limited to, lawyers, paralegals and legal advisory services (e.g., legal research, software, suppliers, commercial agents and developers) in the private sector or government agencies. Community Service – Roles include non-profit leaders, development directors, religious leaders, outreach coordinators, case management, social workers and stakeholders, among others. Individuals can be recognized in 12 categories, as described below.  The awards serve to congratulate individuals for their leadership and achievements and to recognize talented professionals in the region. The deadline for nominations is April 8, 2020. Applicants will be informed of their application and will receive the application documents. Journalism, Marketing and Public Relations – Roles include broadcast journalists, print journalists, authors, editors, producers, news reporters, radio and television personalities, creative directors, advertising, marketing, public relations, media relations, crisis communication, speech writing and presentation training, inter alia. Nominees for the AU40 2022 Young Professional of the Year Award will be notified of this prestigious award and will receive the nomination documents by email from the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce. Category finalists and winners from previous years may reapply if nominated. Youth and Education – Roles include teachers, administrators, education advocates, volunteers, school counsellors and guardians, among others.
